Tonight’s STORIES:

Monologue: Fireworks: Sen. Rand Paul Promises ‘Repercussions’ for Fauci’s Refusal to Testify, Ejects Fauci’s ‘Unruly’ Lawyer

Programming note: HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) located the files on government servers and turned them over to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). These were not a private handwritten diary in the traditional sense. They consisted of electronic/typewritten notes (a “historical record” or near-daily journal entries) that Fauci kept on government computers while serving as NIAID director. RFK Jr. stated that HHS spent about eight months locating them across roughly 11 different servers where they had been stored. He then produced (“handed over”) the materials to the senators so they could be made public as part of ongoing congressional oversight into COVID-19 origins and related issues.

Paul, as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released more than 1,100 pages covering roughly December 2019–December 2022 (plus a separate earlier “prequel” set of records from 2001–2015) in late July 2026, ahead of Fauci’s subpoenaed appearance before the committee. The documents were obtained through official oversight processes involving federal agencies under HHS/NIH, not by voluntary surrender from Fauci himself. Fauci was not given advance notice of the specific release.
