Tonight’s Opening Verse: Romans 8:24-30

24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Easter Encouragement:

Many Americans are surprised and discouraged by the direction of our country on every front. Isn’t it a comfort to know that God is never surprised! He is sovereign, and His promises are firm. In Romans 8:28 God promises, “That all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

What a comfort! This should spur us to repentance and righteous living before the Father. He is for us, and we can depend upon Him because His plans never fail.

Here is one more bit of encouragement. We see a lot of wicked people going unpunished. The Bible has something to say about that too, “Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday” (Psalm 37:1-6).

God wants us to TRUST Him. Refuse to envy or fret, DWELL in the land, DELIGHT ourselves in Him, and COMMIT our ways to Him. That’s a lot to do! Let us busy ourselves in obedience to our God.

Happy Easter y’all!
