Last month a 32-year-old man was shot and killed in broad daylight near a train stop at two in the afternoon on a Monday – and the tragedy marked the 150th murder of 2019.

This is not only a tragedy for the people involved, but a massive tragedy for the community as a whole. Imagine young people and families trying to get to and from work and school using the metro system, and it’s no longer an abnormality to have a nearby shooting? What’s more disgusting than politicians letting this continue?

What’s more egregious and harmful to the youth of that city, to the pride of that city, than Al Sharpton descending an elevator and taking a photo op to get a piece of limelight, pretending to care about the people of Baltimore?

According to Democrats and CNN panelists this weekend, Trump’s criticism is the biggest evil we face.

While the media largely defends leadership in Baltimore and calls Trump a racist, there stands a city that needs help – and a President who is motivated to get things started. To help the people of Baltimore, whom the media do not consider.

According to CNN panelists the President is ‘disgusting as always’ and ‘fueling racism’ because he told the truth about a city that’s leadership is failing them. The wonderful people and families who have watched neighborhoods become less and less cared for; less and less safe – they have been neglected by their elected officials. They are forced to deal with the consequences of rampant drug addiction and violent crime.

If the President wants to help, the media should be on board. But they’re not. Because they are shameless and relentless when it comes to this administration.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Baltimore’s opioid related deaths are more than two-folds greater than the national rate. Data from the source in 2017 shows a jaw-dropping increase in overdose deaths, and still politicians stand idly by and watch addiction take down their city. One family, one child, one heart, one mind, one neighborhood, at a time.

The President’s tweet about Baltimore was the blood that brought the media shark to the cage. The hope is, this will shed light on a problem that is being ignored.

If leadership allows, the city of Baltimore and its people will get more attention and more action from politicians and law enforcement. While CNN cries racism – Trump will be at the table working to improve American lives.
